Celebrate your love with Neuhaus' chocolate hearts

It’s not long until Valentine’s Day comes round, and once again, Neuhaus delivers with their stunning Valentine’s collection. This is a collection that will delight your senses, and which has been inspired by roses, and love of course! The intimate limited-edition Inspired by Roses is a love letter to be savoured.

Rose-inspired chocolate hearts

What does love taste of? To find the definitive answer to this question, Neuhaus’ Maîtres Chocolatiers teamed up with the renowned Belgian flower chef Lieven Lootens (‘t Aards Paradijs). Together, they developed 3 rose-inspired heart chocolates that take the taste of love to the heavens. “I really love the subtle aromas, scents, and flavours that flowers bring and I’m passionate about seasonally adding them to my creations,” says Lieven. “The chocolates in Neuhaus’ Valentine’s collection truly reflect my culinary identity,'' he” he concludes.

Don’t know what to write to your loved one? Don’t worry! Thanks to Neuhaus, you can delight your dearest with a lot more than your prose this year. These heart-shaped chocolates say far more than a thousand words. The white, milk and dark chocolate hearts are filled with delicate ingredients that will set your loved one’s heart aflutter. A flavoured ganache or a rose-flavoured gianduja, raspberry, hibiscus, hazelnut, or butter biscuit praline, puffed quinoa, and a hint of yuzu or Madagascar vanilla – you don’t have to travel the world to experience these delights: Neuhaus is more than happy to present them to you in a letter sealed with love.

The gourmets among us can already anticipate the perfect match between the delicate rose flavour and the premium Belgian chocolate hearts. These chocolates are the ideal treat for a delectable and romantic Valentine’s Day.

A match made in heaven

The collaboration between flower chef Lieven Lootens and Neuhaus is a delicious dream come true. Gifting flowers on Valentine’s Day is still the number one tradition on this special day. Neuhaus and Lootens took inspiration from this tradition and selected flowers with the most seductive aromas and combined them with the finest chocolate. Their dedication yielded these exquisite heart-shaped chocolates.

Edible romance

Neuhaus and Lieven Lootens crafted 3 tempting chocolates:

  • An intense dark chocolate heart filled with a delicate rose-flavoured gianduja on one side and a hazelnut praline with a hint of yuzu and puffed quinoa on the other.
  • A heavenly red, white chocolate heart filled with rose-flavoured ganache on one side and a creamy blend of white chocolate, raspberry, and hibiscus on the other.
  • A milk chocolate heart-shaped delight, with one half filled with rose-flavoured ganache and the other half encasing a touch of Madagascar vanilla and a butter biscuit praline.

Of the three, Lieven Lootens’ favourite is the red heart made of white chocolate, even though he is usually on 'team dark'. "Dark chocolate is the most complex and varied in terms of taste," he says. "Although, I do also enjoy a really dark milk chocolate of 40% or more," the chef concedes.

Wondering which dishes or drinks will work best with these flowery delights? “There are a wide range of cocktails and mocktails that will perfectly complement the flavour of these chocolates, especially the red fruit-based drinks,” Lieven suggests.

About NEUHAUS

From its origins as a pharmacist to its present calling as a chocolatier, Neuhaus has always put caring for others and ensuring their wellbeing first. The family opened its first Neuhaus boutique in 1857 in the famous Galerie de la Reine in Brussels. To the delight of his customers, Jean Neuhaus cased his medicines in a thin layer of chocolate. In 1912, his grandson went one step further transforming this concept into the Belgian praline as we know it today, replacing the medicine in the chocolate casing with a delicious filling.

Neuhaus, the inventor of the Belgian praline, continues to pursue its goal of demonstrating its leadership qualities in the chocolate market by encouraging innovation and creating exciting new products with only natural ingredients.

Neuhaus and Belgium have been inextricably linked for more than 160 years - ever since our founder Jean Neuhaus opened his first boutique in the Galerie de la Reine in Brussels. Our pralines and truffles have always been crafted with consideration and respect in Belgium and we are firmly committed to upholding this tradition.
